FRANKSTAHL uses extremely modern storage technologies such as honeycomb storage-systems, shuttle lifts, magnet cranes, four-way, side, front and high-bay shelving forklifts.
High-bay storage
2002 saw the commissioning of one of Europe’s largest, automated honeycomb storage-systems at Guntramsdorf. This advanced technology permits the storage of up to 10,000t of long products in over 3,000 cassettes. The automated control of the honeycomb shelving ensures precise selection and rapid commissioning. The second honeycomb storage facility started its operation in the beginned of 2008.
A honeycomb storage-system facility with 700 cassettes has been in operation at Oberndorf (near Salzburg) since 2001.
Sawing
In order to offer customers cutting to length, in Guntramsdorf (Lower Austria) and Oberndorf (near Salzburg) FRANKSTAHL has seven high-performance sawing systems with feeding and removal stations.
Upon customer request, FRANKSTAHL provides single, serial and miter cuts of up to 45° with precision according to DIN ISO 2768 for dimensions from 10 x 10 mm – 700 x 500 mm.
Shuttle lifts
The conventional storage of small parts and pipe accessories is gradually being fully automated. At present, four fully automatic shuttle lifts with a height of 13 m are in operation. The goods to man principle in article supply guarantees the rapid and operator-friendly commissioning of customer orders. Intelligent storage software allows flexible storage with an extremely extensive range of stock.
