Visiting the website

The pages are stored with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered through Amazon CloudFront. When a page is requested, AWS processes the data this technically requires on behalf of FRANKSTAHL: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page if the browser sends it. The purpose is to deliver the pages and to protect the website against misuse and attacks. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is kept in access logs for 30 days and then deleted.

When the home page is requested, the country derived from the IP address, together with the browser's language setting, decides whether the German or the English version is shown. Nothing is stored in the process.

AWS belongs to a US group, and CloudFront delivers through servers worldwide. Transfers to the United States are covered by the European Commission's adequacy decision on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, in which Amazon participates.

No cookies, no analytics

This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in the browser and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking services. Fonts, images and films are delivered with the website; no content from other providers is embedded. More under Cookies.

Contact by email or phone

Anyone who contacts FRANKSTAHL by email or phone provides the details of the enquiry, such as name, contact details and content. They are processed to answer the enquiry, on the basis of pre-contractual measures or a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or of the legitimate interest in answering it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). They are deleted once they are no longer needed for this purpose and no statutory retention obligation applies.

Applications

Applications go by email to willkommen@frankstahl.com. The documents are processed for the selection procedure (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); only the people involved in the procedure have access. After a rejection, the documents are deleted once they are no longer needed for the procedure or for possible claims arising from it. Documents are kept longer, for example for later vacancies, only with consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which can be withdrawn at any time.

Newsletter

Sign-up for the FRANKSTAHL newsletter runs through a page provided by Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc., USA), which FRANKSTAHL uses to send it. The data entered there, at least the email address, is processed on the basis of consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 174 TKG 2021). Consent can be withdrawn at any time through the unsubscribe link in every newsletter. The transfer to Klaviyo in the United States is based on an adequacy decision or on standard contractual clauses of the European Commission (Art. 45 and 46 GDPR).

Links to other providers

The website links to other providers, such as TheSteel.com, Steelcoin, FRANKSTAHL's channels on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, routes on Google Maps and the profile on Kununu. Only following a link calls up the other provider's page; its own privacy notice applies there.

Recipients

Personal data is passed on only to service providers that FRANKSTAHL uses as processors (hosting, newsletter), and to authorities where the law requires it.

Rights

The people concerned have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. Requests go to the data protection contact above. There is also a right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.

Security

FRANKSTAHL protects the data with technical and organisational measures under Art. 32 GDPR. The website is delivered encrypted over HTTPS.

Legal framework

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021).
